Steven Spielberg adapting A STEADY RAIN

Hugh Jackman announced today that Steven Spielberg is considering adapting A Steady Rain, the Broadway play written by Keith Huff into a film, according to Comingsoon. The play starred Jackman and Daniel Craig and ran on Broadway for 12 weeks.

Here is a description of the play:

"A Steady Rain" focuses on two Chicago policemen who inadvertently return a Vietnamese boy to a cannibalistic serial killer who claims to be the child's uncle. When he later becomes the man's latest victim, the lifelong friendship of the two men is threatened when it becomes clear someone must bear responsibility for their egregious failure to assess the situation accurately."

The project reportedly already has a writer on board and it's assumed that Spielberg will have both Jackman and Craig star in the film version. I am not familiar with this play, but am a huge fan of Spielberg, Craig and Jackman. What are your thoughts on this news?
