Images from Francis Ford Coppola's TWIXT

Francis Ford Coppola's Twixt film comic-con panel was by far one of the strangest most surreal experiences I've had this year. I honestly felt like I was having some kind of crazy acid trip. You had Coppola and Val Kilmer talking about the movie, introducing this new technology that would give each audience a different viewing experience for the film, and then there was the film itself. Twixt looks extremely interesting, it's experimental artsy filmmaking, but it looks like the experience of watching the film will be worth the time and money. The weirdest part of the panel is when you had Kilmer and Coppola up on stage chanting "Nosferatu... Nosferatu.... Nosferatu" over and over again. I still can't get the damn chanting out of head!

It was announced this morning that Twixt would premiere at the Toronto Film International Festival in September, and some new images were released with that announcement.

The film was inspired by the gothic horror writing of Edgar Allen Poe, and it follows a "writer with a declining career arrives in a small town as part of his book tour and gets caught up in a murder mystery involving a young girl. That night in a dream, he is approached by a mysterious young ghost named V. He's unsure of her connection to the murder in the town, but is grateful for the story being handed to him. Ultimately he is led to the truth of the story, surprised to find that the ending has more to do with his own life than he could ever have anticipated."

The film also stars Bruce Dern, Elle Fanning, David Paymer and Ben Chaplin. Check out the new images and tell us what you think!
