Ron Howard will Not Direct Dan Brown's THE LOST SYMBOL
According to a recent report Ron Howard will not be directing Dan Brown's latest Robert Langdon adventure The Lost Symbol. He's directed and produced both The Da Vinci Code in 2006 and Angels & Demons in2009, but it looks like he wont be completing the trilogy. According to an inside source Howard is only looking to produce the film for Sony Pictures this time around, and that "he just didn't want to do that thing over and over, the same character and the same stories." Now the studio is on the hunt for a director to take Howards place.
Tom Hanks is still set to reprise his role in the film as the Harvard symbologist who always seems to get himself involved with some pretty hardcore and sticky situations.
I'm actually glad that Howard is not taking on the challenge of directing this film, I love Howard as a director, but in my opinion these weren't his best made films, even though they were his most successful. I'm curious to see who they will bring in to direct this third Robert Langdon story. Who would you like to see come in and direct this film?
