Jason Bateman cast in Rawson Thurber's WE'RE THE MILLERS

Movie Jason Bateman by

Earlier we reported that Rawson Thurber (Dodgeball) had signed on to direct We're The Millers. The long-gestating project has been in the works since 2002, and finally has a leading man. Pajiba is reporting that Jason Bateman has landed the lead role in the film that Steve Buscemi and Will Arnett had been sought for.

The story is about "a slacker low level drug-dealer who decides to do one more job, which forces him to travel to Mexico and create a make-believe family in order to bring 1,400 pounds of marijuana into the U.S. He does so by renting an RV and assembling the fake family from a neighbor stoner neighbor kid who is borderline retarded and a sassmouth prostitute."

This sounds like a great project for Bateman, who was hilarious in Horrible Bosses. I love drug comedies for some reason, and have since Pineapple Express. This should be fun because of the various interesting characters that are soon to be cast. What are your thoughts on this news?
