Joss Whedon's THE CABIN IN THE WOODS - First Official Image
The first official image from Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon's horror film project The Cabin in the Woods has been released. Unfortunately there is still no word on when this film will actually end up being released. Lionsgate owns the distribution rights to it now, but they have yet to announce a release date. It was previously reported that October will be the possible release date. I bet they end up holding off on releasing it until around the time Whedon's The Avengers is going to be released. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
The image gives us our first look at Chris Hemsworth in the film, which he obviously shot before Thor. The film also stars Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Amy Acker and Fran Kanz.

There's a lot of scary monsters. It's a scary movie. It is about a cabin in the woods. You've figured it out. Yeah, it's about a cabin in the woods. It does take from the sort of formula of the horror movie of this group of young kids who go away to a cabin in the woods for the weekend, and everything that happens and what you think is supposed to happen.
