Paul Feig in talks for BRIDGET JONES 3!

I know this may not be geek news, but we like to cover as much hollywood news as possible. Especially when it is about a director we like, such as Paul Feig. According to The Daily Mail (via Dark Horizons) Feig is in negotiations to direct the third instalment of the Bridget Jones comedy series. Negotiations have been been hard, due to everyones busy schedules. Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant all have other projects.

Reportedly, Feig, Working Title and Focus are "close to agreement on important matters relating to the film, but not close enough for anyone to sign on a dotted line." The script was penned by Helen Fielding which follows Jones becoming pregnant. Firth had expressed interest in reprising his role if there script were solid. He starred in both the 2001 original and the 2004 sequel.

I really like Firth and Grant and think that a thrid film could work. Feig did a fantastic job with Bridesmaids and I am excited to see him go behind the lens again. What are your thoughts?
