This Week in DVD & Blu-ray: Priest, Jane Eyre, Dexter, Something Borrowed, Hoodwinked Too.

Hey everyone! Been a while since I have done a article but I hope to have this one up every week again! Lots of movies came out this week! Whoo hoo! Let's get you a run down, shall we? First up!

Priest

In this horror-thriller based on the popular comic book series, Paul Bettany plays Priest, a man-of-the-cloth hell-bent on rescuing his niece while taking down a horde of rampaging vampires in the process. With a terrific cast that includes Karl Urban, Maggie Q, Christopher Plummer and Brad Dourif, this is a genre-bending apocalyptic action movie that's every bit as wild and blood-soaked as its source material.

Let me just say that I really enjoyed this movie. I saw it in the theatre and it was shorter then I had hoped it was going to be but I thought it was a fun watch. Paul Bettany, Maggie Q and Karl Urban, all kicked butt! I love me some Maggie Q! While this movie was not the best vampire movie I have ever seen (Mainly because they decided to make it PG-13) it was definitely not a bad watch in my opinion. They left it open for another one as well, which would be cool.

Jane Eyre

Driven from her post at Thornfield House by her love for her brooding employer and his secret past, young governess Jane Eyre reflects on her youth and the events that led her to the misty moors in this artful adaptation of Charlotte Brontë's novel. This has Mia Wasikowska as Jane Eyre and Michael Fassbender as Edward Rochester.

So I watched this one too! I remember reading the novel long ago and not really finding the story that appealing but I really like the main actors in this movie so I gave it a whirl. They adapted the book rather well to the big screen in my opinion but it was still as slow as I felt the novel was. Worth a watch if you like period pieces but I don't think I will re-watch it.

Dexter Season 5

This season has Dexter dealing with the traumatic Season 4 finale. I would say more but I don't want to spoil it for those that are not caught up quite yet. For those of you that have never seen Dexter: It's a must watch!

I LOVE ME SOME DEXTER.

Something Borrowed

When successful single lawyer Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin) learns that her best friend, Darcy (Kate Hudson), is engaged to Dex (Colin Egglesfield) -- the same guy she's pined after for years -- she's determined to maintain her loyalty. But things don't go quite as planned. Instead, she and Dex wind up in bed on the night of her 30th birthday party. Not surprisingly, the fallout from their romantic "slip" generates awkwardness for all concerned.

This movie is based off of a book as well. I watched the movie not because I thought the story was great but because I like the actors in it. That being said.....it was just ok. One time watch. It has funny parts and made me laugh some....if you do watch it, watch it into the credits because they have a cut scene right in the middle of the end credits. The cut scene leads into the intro of the second book which I am assuming they are going to make into a movie as well.

Hoodwinked Too: Hood vs. Evil

Fresh off a top-secret training with the Sisters of the Hood, feisty heroine Little Red teams up with intrepid reporter Wolf to investigate the disappearance of Hansel and Gretel in this animated adventure.

While I did not see this personally....our awesome writer Tiberius did! He even did a great review for you all! Here's the link. Clickity click.
