Deus Ex: Human Revolution is officially out in North America and racking up critical acclaim. The third game in the Deus Ex franchise—technically, it's actually a "prequel" to the series—will also be made available in Australia and Europe in the next few days, with a release in Japan scheduled for Sept. 8.
The first-person role-playing game is published by Square Enix and was developed by Eidos Montreal, taking over from Ion Storm, developer of Deus Ex (2000) and Deus Ex: Invisible War (2003).
According to PCMag.com reviews for Deus Ex: Human Revolution have ranged from the positive to the positively euphoric. Reviewers have pointed to the game's "enthralling atmosphere," the "consistent mental challenge of tackling each mission," and a reliance on "strategy over spectacle," while generally crediting Deus Ex: Human Revolution with eclipsing the disappointing Deus Ex: Invisible War and recapturing the quality of the first Deus Ex title.
GameSpot rates it at a 8.5, Game FAQ at a 9.1, IGN at 9.0 and Game Trailers at 8.7 and GameSpy with 4 out of 5 Stars.
I don't know about you all but I have been waiting for this game for a while and Iam so excited it's out today!!! When I first saw the trailer I was like "How did I miss the first two games?!!?! Was I just not on the planet?!" So I figured I should play them ASAP. This last week I have been playing the first game in the series so that I can be prepared! I will probably play the second one too and then finally this one. Although I have been debating playing this new one first since it is the prequel. Either way it's going to rock! Here's a trailer for you my lovely peoples and a little summary of the new game.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution puts players in the role of ex-SWAT commander Adam Jensen, now a private security officer with biomechanical augmentation firm Sarif Industries. Taking place in the year 2027, the game traces the conspiratorial beginnings of human augmentation some 25 years before the setting of previous Deus Ex titles. Following an attack on Sarif Industries that leaves him horribly injured, Jensen undergoes early augmentation treatment without his knowledge and spends the game searching for the "truth" behind the attack—a journey that takes him to cities like Detroit, Shanghai, and Montreal, where he encounters the likes of Sarif Industries founder David Sarif, aging mercenary Jaron Namir, augmented killing machine Lawrence Barrett, and elite assassin Yelena Federova.
Are you all excited about this game? Who's playing it right now and what do you think? (Also I am jealous cause I have not gotten it yet.)
