HBO orders Mike Tyson, Spike Lee boxing drama

HBO is putting on the gloves to go a few rounds with Mike Tyson, Spike Lee and Doug Ellin. THR reports that the network has ordered a pilot for Da Brick, which is "loosely based on Tyson’s early life in the ring." The project is to be directed by Lee and John Ridley will write and serve as showrunner. The show will take place in Newark, N.J., which is often dubbed "Brick City."

Da Brick "will reflect aspects of Tyson's upbringing." The actor also has Animal Planet's Taking on Tyson, and was seen in an episode of Entourage last season.
