Amy Adams to star in THE ORPHANAGE?

The long-gestating remake may have found it's leading lady, Bloody Disgutsting reports that Amy Adams is in the very early stages of talks with New Line Cinema for the lead. The project is based on the Spanish-language filml El Orfanato and is to be directed by Mark Pellington (Mothman Prophecies, Arlington Road) and produced by Guillermo del Toro. The screenplay was penned by Larry Fessenden and Sergio Sanchez.
Adams would play the role of "Laura, a woman who takes over the orphanage where she was raised, to open a home for disabled children. Then her young son begins to play with the same imaginary friend who terrorized her when she was a child." The 3-time Oscar nominee will next be seen in The Muppets Movie and is currently filming Man of Steel. Noting is official at this time, but we will keep you posted on the status of this casting news.
I think that it would be great to see Adams in a horror film. Check out the trailer for the original film below and share your thoughts.
