Breck Eisner directing RED 2?

Bruce Willis is going to be pretty busy this year, it looks as though a director has is close to being found for Red 2. The script has been penned by Erich and Jon Hoeber and the project has since gotten the greenlight from Summit.

The first film was directed by Robert Schwentke, but he is in Boston helming R.I.P.D. with Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges. Deadline reports that Breck Eisner (The Crazies) is on the list of possiblie director, but that the studio is also considering other options. The first film also starred Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Karl Urban, Mary-Louise Parker and Brian Cox,  and made nearly $200 million on a $58 million budget. At this time it is not known who will be reprising their roles aside from Willis. Once the actor films Die Hard 5, he will go directly into production on the sequel.

I think that Eisner would be a decent choice, but Summit may want to find a higher profile director. If not Eisner, who do you think would be a good choice to helm the sequel?

No author bio. End of line.
