HOP Director to take on WALTER THE FARTING DOG

Movie by Billy Fisher

It's been reported today that the director of Hop, Tim Hill, is in talks to direct Walter The Farting Dog.  The movie is going to be produced by Mary Parent and the Farrelly Brothers.  The Farrelly’s were originally set to direct the film when it was at Fox, but now that the plans have changed now that the film is over at Paramount.

Here is what THR had to say about this film:

Walter is based on a series of children's books written by William Kotzwinkle and Glenn Murray, and illustrated by Audrey Colman, about a family living with an exceedingly flatulent dog. Toy Story co-writers Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow have written the screenplay adaptation.

I have never heard of this book series, I'm not even a big fan farting dogs, but it sounds like something any kid would like to watch.  Let us know what you think.

Here's a description of the story from the book:

Warning: This book may cause flatulence. Walter is a fine dog, except for one small problem: he has gas. He can't help it; it's just the way he is. Fortunately, the kids Billy and Betty love him regardless, but Father says he's got to go! Poor Walter, he's going to the dog pound tomorrow. And then, in the night, burglars strike. Walter has his chance to be a hero. Destined to become a children's classic, this story will have kids rolling on the floor with laughter. Adults are permitted to laugh too.
