It's no surprise that Conan the Barbarian is mostly likely going to get a sequel. The Conan property is franchise material, and it's the whole reason the project was revived. We have yet to see if the first new Conan film is actually going to be good or not, but regardless of how good the film is, a story for the sequel has already been written, and it developed by none other than the films star Jason Momoa. Here's what he had to say in a recent interview with Crave.
CRAVE Online: Are you signed on to do another [Conan]?
Jason Momoa: I am, as long as people go out and watch [the first one], you know what I mean?
CRAVE Online: Yeah. Is there a story you'd like to do for the next movie?
Jason Momoa: I wrote it.
CRAVE Online: Did you really?
Jason Momoa: Yeah, so we're waiting to see if they'll accept it.
CRAVE Online: Is it original or did you adapt it from something?
Jason Momoa: It will mostly be... It's character-adapted, because I really want to get into more of the mythical creatures, you know?
A sequel that dives into more of the mythical creatures side of things... interesting. It would be interesting to see if the studio actually ends up using the story Momoa wrote. What do you think of Momoa writting up a sequel to the movie? I'm still waiting to see if this first film is going to be any good or not.
