WORLD WAR Z set photos, plus Bryan Cranston boards cast

Here are some photos from the set of World War Z thanks to Splash News. Marc Forster is directing the zombie apocalypse thriller that stars Brad Pitt in Falmouth in Cornwall, UK.

Feeling the pinch of a cold British summer morning, Brad appeared wrapped up on board the yellow SD Salmoor where most of the filming is taking place. The admiralty salvage vessel was covered in wax and fake icicles plus a hoard of locals that were signed up as extras. The crew set sail to a nearby location and returned banging weapons and hollering for the camera.

THR reports that Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston has joined the cast in a "small but flashy" role. The film is slated for release in summer 2012, and it's based on Max Brooks' best-selling novel about "a worldwide infestation of flesh-eating zombies. Brooks, the son of Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft, wrote a detailed tale in which a researcher for the U.N. Postwar Commission interviews survivors from countries all over the world, 10 years after the crisis, to gather a first-person post-mortem on a war that obliterated every country on the map."
