Sigourney Weaver Talks about AVATAR 2, GHOSTBUSTERS 3, and PROMETHEUS

Sigourney Weaver is currently making the press rounds for her upcoming new film Abduction in which she star opposite Taylor Lautner. She's given a couple of different interviews so far in which she's talked about a few films that many of us are excited about such as Avatar 2, Ghostbusters 3 and Ridley Scott's Prometheus.

Here's what she had to say about Avatar 2:

Don't worry, I will be back. Jim [Cameron] says no one ever dies in science fiction. He's told me the stories for the next two movies and I have to say that they're absolutely wonderful and there's a real treat in store. Now we just have to make them.

She went on to say that both Avatar 2 and 3 may shoot back to back sometime next year. As for Ghostbusters 3 she said:

I have yet to read the script. I've had a couple of calls and I know they're rewriting and all I said was that I hope my son, Oscar, has grown up to be a Ghostbuster and Ivan Reitman said yes. Beyond that, I have no idea. I hope it comes together, but we already did two wonderful films and, if we have to let this one go, that's fine.

Well I guess Peter Venkman is dead. Dana without… I guess his spectre always was with her, whether she liked it or not."

This is all stuff we've heard before, but her outlook on the film isn't really as optimistic as Dan Aykroyd previously was. I would love to see this movie happen, only if Billy Murray does it, if he's out then I wouldn't mind if the movie never happened either. Now finally, here's what the actress said about the Alien inspired film Prometheus. I believe this s the first time she's talked about this film.

I haven't read the script, but what I think is interesting is the alien, when you first find it in the first movie with what we call the space jockey, you know, the kind of strange creature with the elephant face. Anyway, the eggs were in its ship. So where did they come from? So it's kind of following that storyline with ... another great ensemble.

I actually talked to Ridley about this very idea, and I'm delighted he's doing it ... I feel it's in good hands. It's a wonderful franchise and if they can invigorate the creature, it could have another life.

So this basically confirms what we all thought the movie was going to be which is cool. What are your thought's on what Weaver had to say about this movie?
