Paula Wagner buys rights to adapt INTERNET DATES FROM HELL

Internet dating, both good and bad, have become commonplace in todays society. Now the topic is about to make it's way onto the big or small screen. Deadline reports that producer Paula Wagner has optioned rights to the Trisha Ventker's Internet Dates From Hell. This deal allows for the book to be adapted for film, TV and stage.

Ventker recently took part in Author Solutions' first Book-to-Screen Pitchfest. The book was published through iUniverse, a self-publishing imprint of Author Solution. The book was then bought to Wagner by Author Solutions director of new media Marcus Chait, and it went on from there. The book tells the story of the "author, who is a kindergarten teacher from Long Island who moved to New York City on her 30th birthday to find the man of her dreams through a number of online dating websites."

Here is what Wagner had to say:

“I’m always looking for projects with real audience appeal, and with Internet dating being such a part of our technocentric world, I was immediately drawn to Trisha’s personal journey of life and love online.”

Sounds like there will be a nice mix of comedy and real situations in this. I can see it working as a film or TV show. What are your thoughts?

No author bio. End of line.
