Warner picks up MURDERS & ACQUISITIONS for KatzSmith Productions

Warner's has just made the first purchase on behalf of producers Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg’s KatzSmith Productions. Deadline reports that the studio has picked up a spec script from Jonathan Stokes called Murders & Acquisitions for a low six figures. This is the first project for KatzSmith since they closed an overall deal with the studio. The film is an action-comedy about "a Wall Street stock broker who becomes the target of a hit from a rival firm." Stokes penned the screenplay El Gringo, starring Christian Slater. He also has the spec script, Blood Mountain, which is currently making the rounds.

This reminds me of a movie called Hiding Out starring Jon Cryer. I am interested in learning more about this project. What are your thoughts on this news?
