Eric Bana to star in BRILLIANT for Robert Luketic and Lakeshore

Eric Bana may go from bad-ass rogue operative in Hanna to small-time crook. Variety reports that Bana is in talks to star in Brilliant, a diamond-hest thriller for Lakeshore Entertainment. The film is to be directed by Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde, The Ugly Truth) based on a script from Gillian Gorfil (producer on Blood Diamond). This will be her first feature writing credit. 

The story focuses on "a small-time criminal who joins accomplished thieves in a diamond heist." Brilliant is to be produced by Gorfil, Sidney Kimmel, Gary Lucchesi and Tom Rosenberg. Not much else is known about the project at this time.

I like Bana and really enjoyed him in Hanna. Heist films are a favorite genre of mine, so I am excited to learn more about this project. What are your thoughts?
