5 Movies Marvel is Developing after THE AVENGERS

Marvel has a ton of characters and stories to choose from that they can adapt into a film, everything Marvel's been doing up to this point has been great, and it's all been leading up to The Avengers, after that big even't some might think everything will be down hill from there, but I think Marvel will be able to keep the fans excited and keep the good movies rolling in. In the Avengers issue of Entertainment Weekly there is a brief rundown of film projects that Marvel is looking to develop for 2013 and beyond.

All of the films on the list have already been mentioned as being possible movies for Marvel. What surprises me is what's not on the list like Dr. Strange and Luke Cage. These are film adaptations that should be a no-brainer for the studio. Especially since we've heard that a script has already been turned in for Strange.

Here's the list of films below mentioned in the magazine and Marvel President Kevin Feige comments on a some of them. Go through the list below and tell us what you think!

Iron Man 3: Still on track for May 2013, Shane Black is attached to direct.

Thor 2: The big news around this film is that it's close to landing Patty Jenkins (Monster) to direct the film project that will explore the Nine Worlds.

Ant-Man: The magazine says it's "still nebulous but definitely in the works." Edgar Wright has "developed an excellent draft recently," says Marvel's President of Production, Kevin Feige. Wright has been working on said script with collaborator and Attack The Block director, Joe Cornish for a long time now.

Guardians of the Galaxy: The comic was created in 1969 and is set in the distant future, revolving around a group of alien beings who travel back in time to protect the earth from alien invasion. This newly rebooted pack of heroes is made up of members who are the last of their kind, including a crystalline being from Pluto and a soldier from Jupiter. Feige says "There's an opportunity to do a big space epic, which Thor sort of hints at, in the cosmic side of the [Marvel] universe." This has the potential to be a big epic space sci-fi adventure, and it's a film I would love to see get made, so I hope it happens.

The Inhumans: The last we heard on this project was the studio was out looking for writers. And this was the description given, "Aliens who were put on Earth as sleeper cell aliens to eventually call back their race to take over the planet. Ultimately, the group of aliens fully assimilates and don’t want to cause war." Millions of years ago the alien species Kree started experimenting on early humans looking to build a race of super soldiers they could use to fight The Skrulls (the rumored alien baddies from the Avengers movie). After the aliens abandoned their human test subjects, the mutants eventually formed their own society, and are now what Marvel calls The Inhumans. If either this one or Guardians of the Galaxy becomes a film, Feige says you should expect an X-Men style ensemble, along the lines of The Avengers. The Inhumans were first introduced in the pages of "Fantastic Four" #45 back in 1965 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. A few members appeared in earlier issues, but they were given a high-profile mini-series in the late '90s.

I'm sure there are other films in the works other than these 5, but maybe these are the studio's priority for right now. Thoughts?
