Pixar Founder's First 1972 3D CG Animated Film

A video has hit the internet showing off the incredible first 3D rendered film footage ever. This is what changed the face of animation forever. It was created in 1972 by Pixar founder Ed Catmull and his colleagues while he was a graduate student at the University of Utah. This film is an animated version of Catmull's left hand. The video also includes some "making of" footage (around 1:30) and some other early experiments.

Check out the video footage below and tell us what you think! It's amazing how awesomely far we've come since 1972.
