HANSEL & GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS, A THOUSAND WORDS, PIXELS and More Delayed

Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures have announced some release date changes. Comingsoon reports that Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters has been delayed for almost a year, having been pushed back from March 2nd, 2012 to January 11, 2013.

Dead Snow's Tommy Wirkola directed the film that stars Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton, and Famke Janssen. The story takes place 15 years after the Grimm's Fairy Tale siblings' incident at the gingerbread house. The film finds Hansel and Gretel working as bounty hunters, tracking down supernatural beings. The film is planned for a 3D release.

Some other date changes have been announced. A Thousand Words starring Eddie Murphy is moving from March 23rd to April 20th, Jeff, Who Lives at Home changes from March 2nd to March 16th and Sony's Pixels is moving forward from May 17, 2013 to May 24, 2014.

I am looking forward to seeing Hansel & Gretel in theaters. No word on the reason for the delay, but it makes sense to not have it come out around the same date range that the upcoming Snow White movies are scheduled. What are your thoughts on this news?
