One of the main reasons I watch the Super Bowl is for the awesome commercials and movie trailers that air during the game. I'm sure many of you are the same way, but even if you don't watch the game we will make sure to get them up on the site as soon as they become available so you can always watch them here.
Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, Relativity Media, and Disney will all be screening trailers. 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Lionsgate and Warner Bros. will not, so don't expect to see spots for Dark Knight Rises, The Hobbit, or Hunger Games, which sucks.
The only studio to announce what trailer they will be showing is Relativity Media, which will air a spot for their Navy Seal film Act of Valor, which will air during the fourth quarter of the game. The other studios have yet to announce what trailers they will show, but I imagine they will include some of their big-budget films such as Universal's Battleship, Disney's John Carter, and Paramount's G.I. Joe Retaliation. I imagine there will be a few other trailers airing, and hopefully we get a few awesome surprises. Maybe we'll see a trailer for The Avengers. I would love to see something for Star Trek 2; it's a long shot, but I can dream.
Did you know that it costs an estimated $4 million bucks for a 30-second spot this year? That's just an insane amount of money!
As soon as we get any info on what other trailer will be showing for sure, we'll be sure to let you know.
