Jason Bateman's IDENTITY THEFT Being Directed by Seth Gordon

Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon is reteaming with Jason Bateman in a new comedy called Identity Theft, which also stars Bridesmaids' Melissa McCarthy

The script for the film comes from The Pursuit of Happyness writer Steve Conrad and got a rewrite from Craig Mazi. When the film was first conceived it was about "a guy who gets his identity stolen by another guy, and it was written for Bateman and another actor." After everyone saw McCarthy's performance in Bridesmaids, they decided to rewrite the story so that she could play the identity thief.

McCarthy was freakin' hilarious in Bridesmaids, and it looks like she's going to have a solid film career from here on out. You know you've impressed Hollywood when they start rewriting scripts around you.

Gordon and Bateman make a great team, and the addition of McCarthy only ups the comedic value. Horrible Bosses was one of my favorite comedies of last year, and I'm excited to see how this movie turns out.
