STAR WARS: UNDERWORLD - Awesome Major Plot Point Revealed!

TV Star Wars by Joey Paur

Star Wars: Underworld is the live-action TV Star Wars drama currently being developed. This is a series that would be incredibly awesome, if it ever actually happened! It has been described in previous interviews as being a gangster drama like The Godfather, with mob bosses and bounty hunters, and that it would be "The Empire Strikes Back on steroids."

Well, today an interesting plot point from one of the series' first episodes has been revealed, and good hell... it's awesome! This is definitely a major spoiler for those of you who want to avoid knowing anything about the series. But since there's a slight possibility it may never actually happen, I say eff it, read away.

The news comes from AICN, and here's what was revealed...

One of the series' first episodes will involve a group of  bandits acquiring the capability of time travel, and using it to travel back in time to stop Darth Vader from ever existing.

If these are the types of stories that will be told in this series, then I'm sold, and I hope so badly that this show actually goes into production and gets made. We've never really see time travel played with in the Star Wars universe, but it does exist and has been acknowledged in the franchise's "extended universe." You can find out more details about that here.

I think it would be great to see them play with this time travel element; there's so much they could do with it. The crazy interesting part about it is the fact that it would allow Lucas to actually alter the Star Wars universe as we know it if he wanted to, which could be both good and bad. Maybe they will prevent Boba Fett from dying so easily in Return of the Jedi.

As we previously reported the main reason the series is taking so long to get made is because they aren't able to do the incredible special effects on budget or on schedule right now. Basically, technology needs to catch up and get fast and cheaper. You can read all about that here

What are your thoughts on this time travel business of trying to prevent Darth Vader from ever existing?
