Liam Hemsworth and Dwayne Johnson To Star in Indie Heist Movie EMPIRE STATE

Liam Hemsworth is trying to make a name for himself in the action genre. Deadline reports that The Hunger Games star is nearing a deal to star in Empire State, an indie heist movie to be directed by Dito Montiel (Fighting, The Son of No One). He would play the role of Chris in the film written by Adam Mazer (Breach, HBO’s You Don’t Know Jack). Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is also in talks to join the cast in the role of Ransone.

The movie is based on the true story of "a 1982 NYC armored car company robbery thought at the time to be the largest cash heist in U.S. history." Production is slated to start in April. Empire State is being produced by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films, with Randall Emmett and George Furla’s Emmett/Furla Films financing.

I am looking forward to seeing more of Hemsworth, with roles in The Hunger Games and The Expendables 2 on the horizon. The Rock is a great addition to any movie, in my mind. He is what helped to make Fast Five better. Heist movies are always a lot of fun, but this story sounds really cool. What are your thoughts on this news?
