Terminator Salvation director McG is attached to produce and potentially direct a feature film adaptation of the book series School of Fear written by Gitty Daneshvari. The first book published back in 2009, the script will be written by Daniel Mackey, and the story follows four children who suffer from phobias. They are sent to and exclusive and secretive school where they conquer their fears and survive a perilous final test. Here's the description of the first book:
With very few options left, the parents of these four twelve year-olds send them to the highly elusive and exclusive School of Fear to help them overcome their phobias. But when their peculiar teacher, Mrs. Wellington, and her unconventional teaching methods turn out to be more frightening than even their fears, the foursome realize that this just may be the scariest summer of their lives.
It sounds like an interesting story that could make for a good entertaining movie. The producers hope that this ends up being a big successful franchise. McG recently signed on to direct Magic Castle for 20th Century Fox.
