AKIRA Movie Concept Art Featuring Kaneda and Cityscapes

Warner Bros. just can't seem to get their live-action big screen adaptation of Akira into production. It's really kind of ridiculous that they keep letting the film fall through. Before development of the film was shut down it was going to be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Orphan) and it would have starred Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) amd Kristen Stewart (Twilight). Before that Albert Hughes (Book Of Eli) and short film director, Ruairi Robinson were attached to direct the film.

Here's some concept art from the unmade movie showing off a character design for Kaneda, and some of the cityscapes depicting New Manhattan. The concept art was done by Rodolfo Damaggio who also worked on films such as Hulk, Iron Man and Green Lantern.
