Disney to Adapt DOLPHIN BOY Doc into a Feature Film

Disney has picked up the rights to an Israeli documentary called Dolphin Boy. The doc is based on the true story of a "teenager from an Arab village in northern Israel who is traumatized from a violent attack and slowly recovers with the help of dolphins." 

The studio has hired The Bucket List scribe Justin Zackham to write the script. This will be one of several low budget family films that the studio is making like The Odd Life of Timothy Green.

Mandeville Films' David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing the movie. They're developing films such as The Muppets 2, Warm Bodies, and 21 and Over
