Wall-E Junk Robot Being Developed by Swiss Space Center

Space junk, it's a problem. Right now around 16,000 objects of about 10 cms are orbiting Earth at several kilometers per second. You don't have to be familiar with the metric system to hear that and assume it's weaksauce, but you'd be wrong.

Swiss Space Center says a mere paint chip off of a rocket can cause massive structural damage and with two satellites colliding earlier this year and satellite insurance running in the billion $ range... this is a problem.

The answer is CleanSpace One, or as we have been calling him "space Wall-E." Much like the Disney character, CSO is tasked with cleaning up debris, except not on a junk-ridden Earth. You can find out more below, and watch a Wall-E video just for kicks.
