Top 10 Fictional Movie Presidents

Since today is Presidents Day, I thought it would be a good time to give a fun list of the 10 best fictional movie presidents. I have to say that I think we need a Harrison Ford type president in the White House today. Check out the list below, and let us know who you would like to see as the real president of the United States. 

I think all of these movies are worth watching again if you haven't seen them in awhile.

Donald Pleasance as President “Unknown Name” – Escape From New York

Air Force One crash lands in the futuristic dystopia Manhattan which has been turned into a maximum security prison, and the President is taken hostage by the criminals. Snake Pliskin is injected with a serum that will kill him in 24 hours, to get the antidote and survive he must save the President.

Gene Hackman as President Alan Richmond in Absolute Power 

Hackman plays an aggressive President who will do anything he can to stop the murder of his mistress being leaked to the public. 

Jack Nicholson as President James Dale in Mars Attacks 

How can you not love Nicholson's over the top performance as a President dealing with a very silly yet deadly alien invasion?

Morgan Freeman as President Tom Beck in Deep Impact

Freeman did the best job he could to save the world as a comet was heading toward the planet to destroy it. I have to say, he did a pretty damn good job.

Jeff Bridges as President Jackson Evans in The Contender

Bridges gives a hell of a performance in this film as a President who must battle through a tough confirmation hearing for his new Vice President against a conservative U.S. Senator determined to bring her down. 

Kevin Kline as President Dave Kovacin in Dave 

Kline takes on a duel role in this film which tells the story of how the President goes into a coma and is replaced by a look alike to avoid scandal.

Michael Douglas as President Andrew Shepard in The American President

Douglas plays a widowed President who begins a relationship with an environmental lobbyist just before kicking off a reelection campaign.

Bill Pulman as President Thomas Whitmore in Independance Day 

Watching Pullman save the world from an alien invasion was freakin' awesome, and he give one of the best Presidential speeches ever.

Peter Sellers as President Merkin Muffley in Dr. Strangeglove

Sellers pulls off a triple performance in this unlikely comedy about an accidental nuclear attack, including President Muffley, who is attempting to save the world.

Harrison Ford as President James Marshall in Air Force One 

Ford was badass as the president in Air Force One. As you can see, he's not afraid to kick a some ass and get his hands bloody when terrorists invade the Presidential plane and take his family and crew hostage.
