Warner Bros. and Dark Castle have finally found their leading man for the Albert Hughes action film Motor City. Variety reports that Gerard Butler has been cast in the lead after a bunch of stars were attached and later dropped out of the project.
Dominic Cooper was set to star before he dropping out because of scheduling conflicts, which paved the way for Jake Gyllenhaal to climb about. As quick as Gyllenhaal joined the project, he had to drop out because of similar issues. Once a deal is finalized, Butler would play "a felon who, after being released from prison, begins tracking down the men who framed him." He would star opposite Amber Heard and Gary Oldman. The film was scripted by Chad St. John and produced by Joel Silver.
Butler will next be seen in Playing the Field, and will then be in another action pic called Olympus.Butler has not been in anything really worth watching since 300, but this may change with Motor City. Do you think that this will be a great action film for Butler?
