MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 5 on the Horizon

A fifth Mission: Impossible is inevitable after the success of Brad Bird's Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. THR reports Viacom CEO Philippe Daumanat made a statement at Paramount's annual shareholder meeting that a sequel is happening for the Tom Cruise action franchise. A shareholder asked Daumanat if there were "any plans to develop an additional sequel." He responded briefly, "Oh, yes."

The film is Cruise's highest grossing film with a $679.6 million take at the box office. Before this his biggest grosser was Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds in 2005 ($591.7million).

The first film of the franchise is still a fun watch, but Ghost Protocol is an awesome action film. Bird did fantastic with his first live-action feature film. I would love to see him sign on to direct the fifth film. Are you looking forward to more Mission: Impossible?
