Ashton Kutcher To Play Steve Jobs in Indie Film JOBS
Ashton Kutcher has found his next feature film role after stepping in for Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men. Variety reports that Kutcher is attached to play Steve Jobs in the indie pic Jobs. Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) is directing a script penned by Matt Whiteley.
The movie will follow"Steve Jobs from wayward hippie to co-founder of Apple, where he became one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of our time."Job is being financed by Five Star Institutes Mark Hulme, who will also serve as a producer. Filming is slated to start in May, when Kutcher is on hiatus from his TV gig.
Kutcher was last seen in Garry Marshall's ensemble pic New Year's Eve and No Strings Attached. I know many of you are balking at the idea of Kutcher playing Jobs, I am even having trouble imagining it. One thing I do have to say is that he has done some of his best work on lower budget movies like David Mackenzie's sexdramedy Spread and Emilio Estevez's historical drama Bobby.
Biopics about Jobs are inevitable, but do you think that Kutcher is the right choice for this role?
