Darren Aronofsky Directing George Washington Film Called THE GENERAL

Movie Darren Aronofsky by Joey Paur

As director Darren Aronofsky is gearing up to direct his epic biblical film Noah, he's lining up his next film project over at Paramount Pictures. He's in negotiations with the studio to develop a movie about George Washington called The General.

This is awesome! The world needs a great movie based on George Washington. The best representation I've seen of the first president of the United States was in the HBO mini series John Adams. The film will be written by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage (Accepted), and as of right now there's not many details on what the movie will be about. Variety does tell us that it will be "more of an Unforgiven-like tale rather than a straight historical drama." I'm a huge history buff, so this is a movie I am very much looking forward to seeing.

This sounds like a great film project and I hope everything falls into place for it. Aronofsky is the perfect director to take on a film like this. He does have one other project lined up as a possibility... a Judy Garland biopic called Get Happy, which would star Anne Hathaway as the Wizard of Oz star. Either film could be his next project after he's completed Noah, but I'm rooting for The General.

What do you think about the director possibly taking on a badass George Washington story?
