Great News for Netflix's ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Season 4!

Just in case you thought the news of Arrested Development getting a fourth season and a movie was a dream, I just wanted to reassure you that it's really happening. Last year Netflix announced that they would air 10 new episodes of a fourth season that would lead up to a feature film.

The series-creator Mitch Hurwitz recently appeared at a Netflix-sponsored event in Las Vegas with several of the cast members, and he gave an update on what the current plan is for season four. He said that the production is set to begin this summer, and that the entire fourth season will premiere together on a single day sometime next year! So you'll be able to watch the whole fourth season in one sitting if you wanted to, and who wouldn't want to do that?! It's so cool that they've decided to released the series like that.

In the original plan for the series, Hurwitz wanted to make a revival anthology, where each episode would tell a somewhat self-contained story about a specific character. That's no longer the case, he now says it's going to be more like the original show that we all loved.

That is now kind of evolving into becoming more like the old show again. There's something exciting about trying to break the form again.

He then goes on to discuss some of the other aspects of the show saying,

There's going to be some mystery sprinkled throughout this [but] instead of watching one a week and try to get ahead of it, the hope is [fans] will watch them all together and then go back and look for clues and connections.

We'd also like to use the technology to provide additional material, where you might be able to access another part of the story. It's comedy. The twists really aren't as important as the characters.

The fourth season of Arrested Development might not be its last either. The creator revealed that he's love to do a fifth and sixth season with Netflix. Who freakin' sweet would that be!?

We would love this to be the first first of many visits. The show's audience has grown over the last six years because of [viewers streaming it]. It's been like putting jokes in a bottle and then having them come back years later to say, 'Ha ha.'

The fact that Arrested Development is going to live on is beyond awesome! I'll be happy with whatever we get, but the more we get the better! What are you excited for most about the return of Arrested Development? Do you like where Hurwitz is going with it?
