LEGO Movie coming February 2014

Phil Lord and Chris Miller began their film career in 2009 with the animated children's book adapation, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. The film, featuring the voices of Bill Hader, Anna Faris, Bruce Campbell, James Caan, Andy Samberg, Mr. T and Neil Patrick Harris, was a huge hit with $243 million at the box office. This year, they made their live-action directorial debut with 21 Jump Street, based on the television show, and it starred Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. Unlike Cloudy, it was more for teens and adults. The film was also a hit with $166 million. Now, Lord and Miller are returning to children's entertainment with none other than LEGO

Yes, a film about LEGOs is being made from the directors of 21 Jump Street and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. To me, this is a good thing. At least they're funny and they don't pull punches with their humor when it comes to adults or kids. They are joined by co-director Chris McKay, previously working with Robot Chicken. When talking about it before, they referred to it as "...mostly animated with a little live action element ... in an all-Lego universe." They have also said, "It involves many worlds. Basically, the least qualified Lego characters in the universe having to keep the world from being frozen together." The movie will be released February 28th, 2014, a little more than two weeks after the sequel to Cloudy, Cloudy 2: Revenge of the Leftovers will be released. Ready to kick some brick with LEGO?
