Trailer for the British Action Thriller THE SWEENEY

Here's the first trailer for the action thriller The Sweeney, which is a big screen adaptation of the Bristish TV series. The film stars Ray Winstone and Ben Drew in a modernization version of the London Flying Squad, directed by Nick Love and co-written by Bafta Winner John Hodge (Trainspotting). The film also stars Hayley Atwell and Damian Lewis. The story focuses on a hardened detective in the Flying Squad of London's Metropolitan police.

The movie will be released in the UK on September 12th, 2012. As of right now there's no U.S. release date set, but I'm sure it will eventually make it's way here. I hope it does because this looks like it could be a good movie.
