Rick Baker Doing Makeup Effects For MALEFICENT
Academy Award-winning makeup effects artist Rick Baker revealed his work will next be seen in Walt Disney Pictures' Maleficent. Comingsoon spoke to Baker while he was doing press for Men In Black 3, and he shared the news. His makeup designs will be seen on Angelina Jolie, who plays the evil fairy in the live-action take on Sleeping Beauty.
Robert Stromberg is directing from a script by Linda Woolverton. The cast also includes Elle Fanning, Kenneth Cranham, Lesley Manville, Miranda Richardson, Sam Riley and Imelda Staunton with Sharlto Copley currently in talks.
Here is what he had to say:
"They're just starting that now. I designed the makeup for Angelina Jolie. At this point, I'm actually finished with that part of it."
Jolie has mentioned in interviews that Maleficent will have the horns like the classic characters, so it will be cool to see Baker's take. Not much else is known at this time about the design direction, but it will surely be awesome. Men in Black 3 in theaters May 25th and Maleficent on March 14, 2014.
Baker's involvement has me even more excited to see this movie. I love his work on the MIB films. What is your favorite film that Baker has worked on?
