Roland Emmerich's WHITE HOUSE DOWN gets a Release Date

Sony Pictures has set the release date of Roland Emmerich's White House Down for November 1st, 2013. The script was written by James Vanderbilt who also wrote two of this summer's big films The Amazing Spider-Man and Total Recall. The story is described as being a Die Hard style movie set in the White House; it focuses on a paramilitary takeover of the President's residence, and someone needs to save the day!

White House Down opens up the same day as the long awaited big screen adaptation of Ender's Game. Sorry Emmerich and Sony, but I'll be spending my time at Battle School that weekend.

There's another White House movie in the works with Gerard Butler called White House Taken for Nu Image/Millennium Films in which Butler will play a former Secret Service agent called back to duty when terrorists overtake the White House.

So will you be watching White House Down or Ender's Game on November 1st, 2013?
