In her young career as an actress Chloe Moretz has played both a vampire and a werewolf. She's now in negotiations to play a zombie in a film called Maggie. So it looks like she will complete the monster movie trifecta. Paddy Considine is also in talks to join the film project.
The film will be directed by commercial director Henry Hobson from a Black List script written by John Scott. According to Variety the film is set against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse, and the "story concerns a father's unconditional love for his daughter." Considine would play the father, and Moretz would play his zombie daughter. There's no other details on the story, but I imagine the dad will be trying to keep her zombie daughter safe, and keep her out of trouble. Or hell! Maybe they're both zombies and he's still trying to take care of her.
The film has a budget of about $10 million bucks and is set up at Inferno Entertainment, which is the same production company behind Guilermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson's Pinocchio. The plan is to start shooting Maggie in September.
Moretz is a very talented young actress that can next be seen in Tim Burton's Dark Shadows and was recently cast as the lead in Stephen King's Carrie remake. I'm interested in seeing what the story for this movie turns out to be. What do you think the story will turn out to be?
