Neil Marshall set to Direct LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER

Movie Neil Marshall by Joey Paur

It looks like the Dracula inspired film project Last Voage of the Demeter is ready to set sail again. Neil Marshall (The Decent, Centerion) is attached to direct it.

The script for the movie was written by Bragi Schut over a decade ago and it tells the story of the Demeter, the name of the ship that transported Dracula from Transylvania to London in Bram Stoker's classic story. If you remember from the novel, the ship washes up on the shores of England, tattered and broken, with one raving mad survivor. The film will tell the tale of that journey, in which the crew is slaughtered one-by-one by a mysterious passenger.

This is an awesome film concept and I'm surprised that it hasn't been completed yet. David Slade (30 Days of Night) was attached to direct last year with Ben Kingsley and Noomi Rapace set to star. It obviously fell apart and I doubt those actors are still attached to it.

I think Marshall will do a great job brining this story to life, and it's a film I'm excited about seeing! What are your thoughts on this story concept?
