Liam Neeson to Star in A WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES

Movie Liam Neeson by Joey Paur

Liam Neeson is set to star in the big screen adaptation of the Lawrence Block book series A Walk Among the Tombstones. Neeson will play the main character Matt Scudder, an ex-NYPD cop, unlicensed private detective and a recovering alcoholic, who's hired to find the wife of a drug dealer who was kidnapped.

The book was adapted by Scott Frank, and it sounds like a great character for Neeson to play. I have no doubt he'll be awesome in the film. I think I'd like to see Neeson start making more comedies though. It'd be cool to see him do something completely different than what he has been doing lately.

Here's a couple of short descriptions from the book:

A ruthless, ingenious pair of entrepreneurial monsters is preying on the loved ones of those who live outside the law. Though he has no love for drug dealers and poison peddlers, ex-cop-turned-p.i. Matthew Scudder now must help them put two thrill-kill extortionists out of business -- before another drop of innocent blood is spilled.

The wife of Kheran Khoury, heroin wholesaler, is killed after he haggles over the price of her ransom. With the help of two computer geniuses, a streetwise punk, drug lords and his friend, ex-cop Scudder, they track the killers through the back streets of Brooklyn.
