G.I. JOE: RETALIATION gets a 9 Month Delay and New Photo is Released

I'm sorry to report that Paramount Pictures has moved the release date of Jon Chu's G.I. Joe: Retaliation from June 29th of this year to March 29th, 2013! Why, you ask? Because they have decided to convert the film in 3D which is complete bullcrap! I'm sorry, but I'm not the biggest fan of 3D. I was incredibly excited about seeing this film this year in 2D, now I'm pissed off that I have to wait even longer to see it in a format I don't care for.

An executive at the studio told Deadline the following,

We’re going to do a conscientious 3D job because we’ve seen how it can better box office internationally. Jim Cameron did all of Titanic‘s 3D in post – and look how well that movie turned out.

Blah... blah... blah. No matter how you spin it this frustratingly sucks ass. Whenever something like this happens I feel like we as an audience are being taken advantage of. The movie was supposed to be released next month for cryin' out loud! Now not only are we going to have to wait longer, but we're going to have pay even more of our hard earned money to see the movie.

What do you think of the movie being delayed so it can get a 3D conversion? Maybe their really just scared of the competition from all the other awesome movies being released this summer.

Here's a new image of a Cobra operative from the movie...
