Seth MacFarlane's TED Takes G.I. JOE's Release Date

Seth MacFarlane's feature directorial debut Ted has a new release date. Deadline reports that Universal Pictures acted quickly, and claimed G.I. Joe: Retaliation's vacated release date. The R-rated comedy was slated for release on July 13th, but will now hit theaters on June 29. MacFarlane not only directed, but he is the writer, producer and voice talent behind the foul-mouthed teddy bear. Ted also stars Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis.
Here is what Universal had to say about the new release date:
“The movie has had so much buzz since the minute the trailers were released that we’ve been looking to see if there was an earlier date available. It also gives us two more weeks of primetime summer. And allows for the word of mouth to build through the weeks up through Fourth Of July.”
I think that what is GI Joe's loss is Ted's gain. This should be a perfect time for a comedy like this to come out. I am very surprised that Paramount gave up such a great release date. Are you interested in seeing Ted?
