Thomas Jane to Join Frank Darabont's L.A. NOIR

Frank Darabont is looking to cast Thomas Jane in his new gangster TV series for TNT called L.A. Noir. Darabont and Jane worked together on the big screen adaptation of Stephen King's The Mist, which was an awesome movie... until the last five minutes. Damn, that ending really pissed me off.

Jane is currently in talks to take on the role of mobster Bugsy Siegel, which is awesome! This would be a great role for Jane who is an underrated actor who should be working more. The pilot episode has already wrapped production so Jane will most likely show up later in the season if it gets a full order from the network.

Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) will play Joe Teague, the Los Angeles cop at the center of the show that examines corruption in the LAPD and ties between police and underworld figures in the 1940s and '50s. The show is based on the book by John Buntin called L.A. Noir: The Struggle For The Soul Of America’s Most Seductive City. It's based on the true story of a decades-long conflict between the LAPD and the city’s criminals.

Jane would also be joining Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) who is playing a former Marine who served with Bernthal’s character during WWII and is now a budding lawyer groomed to be a master "fixer" for the mob. Neil McDonough stars as police chief Parker. Then there's Jeffrey DeMunn and Andrew Rothenberg, both from The Walking Dead, who'll play LAPD mob squad detectives. Simon Pegg also will be a guest star in the pilot.

What do you think of Jane possibly playing Bugsy Siegel?
