Remember that time when there was all that chatter about Ridley Scott's Prometheus getting a PG-13 rating? Well, there's no need to worry about that anymore. After the trailer was released I knew we were in for a R-rated sci-fi adventure, and it's the rating I assumed the MPAA would give it, just from what the studio has shown us.
The R-rated news hit last night when IMDB user dvonnesoneek posted a picture of his IMAX Prometheus ticket clearly showing the R-rating. That news has since been officially confirmed to Collider by 20th Century Fox. Personally, I didn't really care what the movie was rated, as it has always looked completely badass.
The film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green, and Charlize Theron, and it opens up in theaters on June 8th, 2012.
