Anton Yelchin is set to star in his second vampire-themed film. Deadline reports that the Fright Night star has joined the cast of Jim Jarmusch's Only Lovers Left Alive. Filming begins this summer. The film also stars Tilda Swinton, Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, and John Hurt.
The story follows "a centuries-long love affair between two star-crossed vampires." Yelchin has been on my radar since Alpha Dog, but I have been a big fan since Star Trek. He can handle romance movies with an edge, like he did in Like Crazy. He just wrapped shooting on JJ Abrams' Star Trek sequel and will next be seen in the Dean Koontz novel adaptation Odd Thomas.
If you are not familiar with Jarmusch, I recommend you check out a film called Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai starring Forest Whitaker. This sounds like a perfect film for Jarmusch to helm, and Yelchin to star in. What are your thoughts?
