Ray Winstone Offered Villain Role in Aronofsky's NOAH
Director Darren Aronofsky has offered the role of the villain in his Noah epic to Ray Winstone. It was previously rumored that Liam Neeson was up for the part, but that obviously didn't play out. The actor is now in negotiations.
In previous interview, the director's cinematographer Matthew Libatique talked about the villain in the movie, and here's what he had to say,
...there's a big villain part, gotta have a villain in the story of Noah. Someone who's saying 'Listen, don't listen to him. We're fine! We don't need to build any ark. Don't be so alarmist! Don't be so fundamentalist.' You know? One of those guys. So it sounded like a lot of fun, actually.
Winstone is a fantastic actor, who is perfect for a role like this. He'll join Russell Crowe who will be playing the prophet Noah. Emma Watson will play a character Ila, described as "a young woman who develops a close relationship with Noah’s son, Shem." Shem is being played by Douglas Booth, and Logan Lerman will be taking on the role of his brother Ham. Jennifer Connelly will also most likely end up playing the role of Noah's wife.
What do you think of Winstone playing the villain in the movie?
