Hugh Laurie to Play Villain in ROBOCOP

House star Hugh Laurie is in negotiations to take on the role of the evil CEO villain in Jose Padilha's (Elite Squad) reboot of Robocop. Laurie is a great actor who's got everything it take to play a great villain, I'm surprised he has had more villainous roles in his career.

The movie will retell the origin story of Robocop, in which The Killing's Joel Kinnaman stars as the badass cop who is violently gunned down, and turned into robot crime fighter for justice. Laurie will play the villainous CEO of Omni Corp, who creates Robocop for his own gain.

The movie also stars Gary Oldman as the scientist who creates him, and Abbie Cornish who plays his conflicted wife. Samuel L. Jackson also recently signed on to play a patriotic media mogul.

What do you think of Laurie taking on this role? The movie is really bringing together a fantastic cast, and I'm actually a little excited about seeing how this turns out.
