News Attack - Jack Bender's DEVOLUTION, CARMEN SANDIEGO and James Marsden 2 GUNS

Movie by

In today's News Attack we have updates on the Carmen Sandiego movie in the works, Jack Bender's next directing project, and a new role for James Marsden

Lost director Jack Bender has a thriller he is developing for Legendary pictures, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Max Brooks (writer, World War Z) came up with the idea, and David Leslie Johnson (Wrath of the TitansThe Walking Dead) is writing the script. Unfortunately there are no details about the film now, but imagine the minds that brought us Lost, World War Z, and The Walking Dead coming together on one film, and you have pure awesome incarnated. More news on this as it develops.

You may recall that Carmen Sandiego is being turned into a feature film. Jennifer Lopez is currently producing the project and is eyeing the starring role. Darren Lemke (Shrek Forever AfterJack the Giant Killerhas been hired to write the film for Walden Media. The studio bought the rights to the educational computer-game-turned-cartoon from Houghton Mifflin in the fall of 2011. Lemke is a perfect choice to helm this family friendly film, which falls within Walden's wheelhouse. Lemke also has a script for R.L. Stein's Goosebumps in production.

James Marsden may have starred in Hop, but he looks to be redeeming himself with his upcoming role in 2 Guns from Contraband's Baltasar KormakurSuperherohype reports that Marsden will play a Naval Commander in the film opposite Mark Wahlberg, Denzel Washington, Edward James Olmos, Paula Patton, and Bill PaxtonSteve Grant wrote the original comic book, which was illustrated by Matt Santolouco. The pulp story follows cops and thieves and the men that are something in between. In the graphic novel, "Trench has targeted a local bank to rob, and asked Steadman in on the job. Trench figures it's a great way to score – considering it's a cover for mob money. They'll be thieves ripping off thieves. But what Steadman doesn't know is that Trench is a DEA agent. And what Trench doesn't know is that Steadman's got his own secret and isn't who he appears to be."

Devolution and 2 Guns are the movies that interest me the most. I loved Lost and am hopeful that 2 Guns will be a lot better than Contraband. Which of these movies are you looking forward to seeing the most?
